Successful

Congratulations!
Joti Kishan has successfully passed her SSC Board Exams 2014. She was the only student of RCDM Public School who appeared in Matric Board Exams. We are proud of her. We are not sure if she would like to continue her studies further but we know its a milestone for her and RCDM Public School. She is our first female school graduate. Despite the pressure, which the local Hindu and Sikh girls go through, she remained persistent to continue her studies. Often when the girls reached the age of 15 or 16 their marriages are fixed. Last year one of our students in grade 9 was forced to quit studies to get married. Sadly we heard the news few months ago that she committed suicide.

We hope and pray for a better future for Joti. We also hope that she would persist to continue her studies instead of surrendering to peer pressure to get married.

Kamar Shahzad

Kamar Shahzad
RCDM Pubic School’s 1st School graduate!

Kamar, came to our school in grade 8. His family was going through tough times. He did not have money for fee and books. During those days RCDM Public School did not have any other funds so Rev. Dr. Robinson Asghar assisted him personally and helped him to get through his studies.
He successfully has passed his 10th grade (Matric) and now enrolled in a college for further studies. He is our first school graduate and we are really proud of him. We pray and wish him a great future.

Joti Kour

Joti Kaur

Promising graduate to be of 2014

Joti, she has recently passed 9th grade board exam (external). She is in grade 10 now. She is expected to be our next school graduate in 2014. She’s hardworking and determined to continue her studies despite her domestic problems. It is a common practice among Sikh and Hindu community of Hassanabdal to arrange the marriage of their daughters as soon as they reach the age of 15. They are forced by the parents to quit studies and get married. Parents also come under peer pressure to marry their daughters in young age.
